Taming Wrath, by S. Lucas

It's Day Eleven of the Write Here, Write Now LoveFest, and we've got S. Lucas and her paranormal erotica Taming Wrath.

Work, fight, drink, sleep. Rinse and repeat.

That’s pretty much how my life works day in, day out. That is until a mysterious man turns up at the bar one night. He’s cocky, and gorgeous and I wouldn’t say no to getting a piece of that. After I win my fight, I let him take me home ready to quench my darkest desires. All that changes when he forces me to drink his blood and drives a dagger through my chest.

The world I wake up in isn’t my own, and there are more problems than just trying to find a way to escape the one place I really don’t want to be in. This isn’t my world, and I don’t want to be the one to try and sort out its issues, I have plenty of those back home.

Now I find myself surrounded by demons who want me dead, and even my dark prince might not be able to save me from their wrath.

Except of Chapter 1:
Disclaimer: this is subject to change.

Tonight I would fuck the blonde in the front row. The set was nearing the end and I could feel her gaze peeling off every piece of my clothing. I liked when a woman knew what she wanted.
Blue and green lights flashed over the stage then washed across the crowd. When we made eye contact again, her tongue traced the outside of her plump bottom lip and at that moment I knew she was DTF. Her being down to fuck made this so much easier but then again, being the lead singer of the Band of Brothers made panties magically melt. I'd be her fantasy for the night.
This tour wasn't like the others because this time everyone wanted a piece of us as if our success happened overnight. But we earned every fucking opportunity we had. I would say given but that's bullshit. My brothers and I worked hard for every small and large success we had because that's our nature. We were raised to not take shit for granted and to work hard. Being assholes just came naturally but we knew to give respect where respect was due.
Each show from Florida to California, all the way to New York was sold out and that felt incredible.
The drums beat on as I screamed out the next few lyrics. "I won't let the world decide. I'll die before that happens." The drums stopped and the distortion was cut leaving a melodic strum of Nicolas's guitar.
The lights faded when walked off stage leaving the crowd to themselves. Ian, Nicolas, and Liam had huge smiles covering their faces as they chugged the water the technicians handed us. This would never get old. Moments like this were the ones we lived and worked for. Once the chanting and clapping started, the four of us walked back onstage and gave the fans what they wanted, an encore.
Green and yellow lights flashed over the crowd and smoke hovered at the bottom of the stage. We played three more songs and the people sang and swayed to the lyrics and music. Some jumped up and down, feeling the full beat of the drums while others banged their heads. The feeling of having thousands of people chanting my words would never become real. More often than not, I felt like I was in a dream, one that I never wanted to wake from.
During the last song, I pointed to the blonde who continued to visually rip my clothes off with every little blink she took. By the way she was dressed in a tight pink shirt and little bitty skirt, I knew she wanted to be seen. She could have possibly had this night planned from the beginning. Randomly, I chose a few others from the crowd to join us, to dance in front of our audience, to feel the temporary power. It was something I did every show, every tour. It was a habit of sorts.
Security helped the girls climb on the stage and they shook their asses in those little pieces of material that were supposed to be skirts. It always made women feel special when they were with the band, and I loved giving them just a little taste.
A person doesn't fully understand performing live until they have had the opportunity to look out past the stage lights and see the people. Before the song ended, the technicians led the girls' side stage as cannons of confetti shot from the floor. Different colored pieces of paper glittered everywhere. When the final song ended, my brothers and I walked side stage where girls anxiously waited us. I smiled, popping an eyebrow at my chosen woman for the night, and she instantly came to me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hers hung on my waist. My brothers stopped in the green room with the other girls, but Blondie and I walked to the bus.
"I'm Lindsey," she whispered in my ear before we reached the end of the hallway. I smiled at her and pushed open the exit door. Groupies and fans waited near the bus and as soon as we walked up they rushed it.
"I'll be out in a bit," I said, smiling at them with pearly whites. "My brothers are coming out that door over there. Really soon."
I hated to out their exit strategy, but I wanted to take my time burying my dick deep inside Misty or Christy or whatever the fuck her name was. It didn't matter. Names never did.

Book Release: Layers Of Lace (D&D #2), by Christine Rains

OMG! How did I miss that Christine Rains released the second book in her erotic contemporary-romance series Dice & Debauchery: Layers of Lace, on Friday?!

*so sorry Christine!*

I read this book last year, when I beta'ed for Christine, and it's amazing. SO HOT!

Emily is such a fantastic character. I loved her voice, and confidence and strength. Fiction – especially geeky fiction – needs more women like Emily.

And hot damn, the sex was smoking. I love how Emily and Russell are. The perfect match.
Brilliant second story. It contrasts with the first perfectly to make a great duo.

Cannot wait for the third book, Masked Kiss, on June 26!

About Layers of Lace

Amateur cosplayer Emily Solis is determined to win the costume contest and the heart of her biggest competition.

It isn't the first time Emily has shed her costume with the gorgeous Russell Morrison. Not even her best friend knows she's been having wild convention sex with him for over a year. It was supposed to remain physical, but Emily couldn't help falling for him and his kinky ways. In a moment of passion, she rolls the dice and tells Russell she loves him. He doesn't say it back. Can she convince him they're perfect together or will she roll another critical failure?

Christine Rains' Dice & Debauchery Blog Tour: Reverse Interview

Hi Clare! Thanks so much for hosting me today. I miss having our chats, and I'm so excited we have a chance to try something new. I've named it: The Reverse Interview. (Does it need a better superhero name? It sounds dynamic in my head, but it's accompanied by dramatic music.)

(Clare: I like it – It makes me think of Reverse Flash!)

Clare is part of my team of awesome critique partners and beta readers. Instead of an author interview, I'm going to interview her. Pretty cool, right? Here we go!

Clare: Christine, thanks for allowing me to be part of your critique team, and including me in your blog tour. It’s always a pleasure to have you here!

What was your first reaction when I told you that I was writing a geeky erotic romance?

That it was an awesome idea. All your previous works have included romance, and light sexy scenes, so I knew you’d be great expanding into erotica. The fact that it had a geeky element made it all the more cooler!

Do you think geeky characters can interest romance and erotica readers as much as the typical beautiful heroine and hot alpha hero?

Absolutely! I think you and I, and others like us are living proof. We’re geeks that love romance and erotica, and we can’t be the only ones out there. And sexuality is just a natural expression of life!

What was your first impression of Loose Corset?

I loved it. First of all, it was scorching hot! *drools* I also loved the character of Morgan – I know plenty of women who are curvy and maybe a little insecure about their looks, and can cover that with playing a character. In those respects Morgan is very relatable.

Did you enjoy the geeky references and jokes or was the humor too nerdy?

I loved the geeky references and jokes. When something popped up that I was into, I felt less alone. Here’s this sexy woman, having the time of her life at a con, and she likes the same “weird” things I do. That’s awesome!

Did you think the characters are like real life geeks?

Yes, and I think this goes back to my answer to question two. There are a lot of women who are into geeky things, but are also sexually active. Just because you like comic books, or role-play games etc. doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy sex! I mean, have you seen some comic book characters, or characters from more geeky things, like Doctor Who? They’re hot!

Who is your favorite character and why?

Morgan! First of all, I love the name Morgan, and as I said in question three, she’s a very realistic, relatable character. She’s not perfect, but that doesn’t stop her getting what she wants, and being a bad-ass!

What do you think are my strengths with this story? What are my weaknesses?

There’s so many strengths in this story. The humor and geek culture. The steamy erotica. The wonderful characterization. There’s a lot to love, and not much I’d label weakness. In fact, nothing springs to mind!

There are geeky jokes even in the intimate moments. Do humor and sex go well together?

Absolutely! You can’t take life too seriously, or you’ll end up going insane. And if you can’t laugh at yourself, then what’s the point?! lol

My concept for the Dice & Debauchery series is to follow three couples from one gaming group over the course of five days. Each book will focus on a different pair. There are scenes that will overlap, and the reader will get to experience the scenes from different perspectives. As a reader, do you like seeing the same scenes through various points of view, or would you rather leave some things to your imagination?

YES! I loved when you did something similar in the 13th Floor Series, and how all the books were interlinked, so it’s great that you’re doing it again in the Dice & Debauchery series. It’s great to get a different character’s perspective on something, and see a scene through new eyes.

You've already read the second book in the series. What do you think about it? (You can give away a few teaser details!)

I LOVED the second book. Maybe even more than the first. While Morgan is a very relatable woman, with certain image related hang-ups, Emily is the woman I wish I could have been in my early twenties. She’s confident, outgoing and not afraid to take what she wants. More power to her. Plus, this book is even steamier than the second, if that’s possible!

Dice and Debauchery, Book 1: Loose Corset

A weekend away at a convention is exactly what overworked student Morgan needs. Dressed as her character from her favorite online game, Morgan is braced—seriously, could her corset be tighter?—to meet the other players. As Lady Gyrfalcon, she’s ready for everything—except her intense attraction to Dean. A clandestine meeting in the hallway of the hotel and Morgan’s corset is looser but now she can’t breathe for entirely different reasons.

Utterly charmed, Morgan decides to roll the dice and indulge in a fantasy-worthy weekend of sexy roleplaying, scorching sex and life-altering orgasms. Still, through it all Morgan is too smart to believe the chemistry constantly stripping her of costumes and control can last more than the length of the convention. But if she wants to keep a relationship so intense she thought it only existed in fiction, she’s going to have to let go of her cool-headed logic and allow herself to fall far and fast for the perfect guy.

Let's Talk About Sex ...

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a lovely weekend, and are looking forward to the week ahead.

Today, I want to talk about sex ...

No, I'm not trying to start a Salt-n-Pepa reunion, I'd like some recommendations, please.

I've got to the part in my WiP where my couple have sex for the first time. I've always had this scene in mind, but when I was planning the story, in my head the scene was going to be erotica.

Now I've actually come to write that, I realize it won't work with the tone of the story. I'm not sure if there will even be a need to mention exact body parts or details.

What's important will be the feelings. The scene comes at a pivotal moment, where they've both quite vulnerable, and stripped of any bravado etc.

I've not written a love scene with this type of tone before - the ones I've written in the past have been more graphic - so I'm going to have to do some research.

Only, I don't know where to start. So, I'm throwing it open to you guys.

Give you your recommendations for the best sex scenes in novels, where the focus is on the emotional connection, more than the descriptions of the deed.

They can be from your own novels, or ones that you've read that really jumped out at you.

Thanks in advance for the help, and have a great week!

Calling All New Adult (NA) Writers - Opinions Needed

I know some of you - especially the girls over at NA Alley - have gotten into this genre, and I was wondering if any of you could offer Kyra Lennon and I some opinions, please.

As you may - or may not - know, Kyra ans I are currently co-writing a NA romance about best friends in their first acting job out of Uni and the experiences they have.

We recently got onto the subject of sex scenes, and wondered what the precedent for those type of scenes in NA fiction is. Whenever I've written erotic fiction it's been pretty graphic, and purely erotica. I don't think we're 'allowed' to go that far, but we have no real insight into what is accepted. Would it be the same as in romance novels or toned down for NA stories?

Any thoughts, opinions and experiences of writing sex scenes in NA would be most welcome.

Thanks.
