Kyra Lennon's Game On Series Audiobook Creation Kickstarter Campaign

The super-talented Kyra Lennon recently launched a Kickstarter Campaign to help her fund the audiobook creation of her Game On Series.

This series is amazing - full of romance, drama, passion and laughter - with unique characters, brilliant writing and a few twists along the way.

It deserve to be an audiobook so we can all listen to the series when we can't actually read it. Imagine a relaxing bath listening to Game On, or a long drive while listening to Blindsided. Sounds awesome, right?!

This is where the beauty of crowd funding comes in. Kyra is asking for a minimum donation of £1/ $1.60. That's like a bar of chocolate, guys!

So help a fellow author out, and bring this series to audiobook life by donating to Kyra Lennon's Game On Series Audiobook creation Kickstarter Campaign

If you really can't donate - which is cool, times are tough, and we're all writers trying to make a living - you can still help Kyra by spreading the word about the campaign.

While we're here helping Kyra Lennon, she's also looking for blog tour hosts for her latest release Sidelined; which was released in March, and is an awesome addition to the fun, sexy, emotional series.

So, if you want to participate, head on over to this post on Kyra's blog, and sign up for the tour! I'm certain it's going to be a lot of fun!

About the Author:

Kyra is a self-confessed book-a-holic, and has been since she first learned to read. When she's not reading, you'll usually find her hanging out in coffee shops with her trusty laptop and/or her friends, or girling it up at the nearest shopping mall. And occasionally hanging out with rock stars, because that’s how she rolls!

Kyra grew up on the South Coast of England and refuses to move away from the seaside which provides massive inspiration for her novels. Her debut novel, Game On (New Adult Contemporary Romance), was released in July 2012, and she scored her first Amazon Top 20 listing with her New Adult novella, If I Let You Go in November.

You can find Kyra at the following places:

Game On BlogHop

To help Kyra Lennon celebrate the release of the 2nd Edition of Game On, and the new covers it and Blindsided, I'm taking part in her sporting crushes bloghop!

Here are all the details:

The Game On Series is centered around a soccer team in the U.S, and those of you who have already read the books will know the hottie of the series is Radleigh McCoy. (Clare adds that Jesse is a hottie too, and Cassie Mae would agree with me!)

Between October 28th and October 31st, Kyra wants to hear from you about your sporting crushes!

Does David Beckham do it for you? What about swimming sensations Michael Phelps or Rebecca Adlington? When did you first notice your sporting crush, and what do you like best about them? Have you ever been lucky enough to see them in action?

Please keep posts to a maximum of 500 words (this is for my benefit, as I offered Kyra a 10-page essay! :P LOL!).

Yes, of course there are prizes!

1) New paperback copies of Game On and Blindsided
2) E-copies of any of my books (3 winners)
3) A full manuscript edit (2 winners)

Full details, and the linky sign up can be found here.

(I will try to keep this post under 500 words, but I'm making no promises! :P)

Growing up, I always had sporting crushes. Back when I was 14, and still into football (it's not soccer damn it) I amused the footie fans at matches with my love for various players!

Then, in my late teen/ early twenties, I got into WWE wrestling and my obsession began. Over the years, I've had crushes on various superstars, like John Cena, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler, and even the Undertaker!

Writing fanfic about my favourite wrestlers was how I got back into writing in my twenties, and helped me build the confidence to pursue writing as something more than a hobby.

And that leads us to today, and my recent (by recent, I mean for the past year!) wrestling crush ....

Roman Reigns!

Excuse me while I sit here and drool for ten minutes!

Roman, along with his Shield team-mates Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose debuted in the WWE almost a year ago at the Survivor Series pay per view, when they interfered in the WWE Championship match. They quickly caught the eye of myself and most of the wrestling community, as badasses fighting against the popular guys, due to the apparent injustice they saw in the WWE.

Some people loved to hate them, and some people cheered them because they were sick of the same top guys always winning. Their brand of justice was infectious, as they took out top guys, including the iconic Undertaker, and became champions when Ambrose won the U.S title on the same night Reigns and Rollins won the tag team titles.

It was impossible not to believe in the Shield.

Amidst the cheering, and being blown away by the synergy this trio had in the ring, I started to notice Roman ...

The first thing that stood out about him was his tattoos. The Samoan tribal design on his biceps is HOT! Then I noticed more and more things; like the intensity of his eyes. The primal roar he does before the Shield perform their team finisher, the triple powerbomb. The way he flicks his long dark hair back before doing his finishing move, the spear. The way his lip quirks up when he smirks or how he sticks his tongue out during matches.

My obsession grew, and soon I was stalking Tumblr and Twitter. Seeing pictures of Roman outside the ring only made me love him more. His awe at travelling to Tokyo with the WWE was adorable, and discovering he's engaged to his high-school sweet-heart, with whom he has a daughter melted my heart!

Yeah, I've got it bad!

I haven't been lucky enough to meet Roman, sadly, as I haven't been to a WWE event for years. But hopefully I can rectify that in the future. At the very least, I'd love to see him wrestle live!

So, that's my sporting crush! Now I'm going to hop around and read all about yours, make sure you do the same!

Memorable Mondays: Free Books from both Kyra Lennon and Mary Pax!

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your week gets off to a productive start!

We're experiencing a heat-wave in the UK, and the warm temperatures are killing my creativity; I'm such a winter baby! Hopefully I can make some progress on my WiPs though.

Yesterday saw a little later than usual Favourites Friday post on my personal blog. If you've got time, and want to see what I've been up to with the family, please drop by.

Continuing with the posting schedule this week, and back to Memorable Mondays: book releases, cover reveals, blog tours & blog hops etc. from around the Blogosphere.

Two of my favourite authors, and friends, are giving away books this month.

A Beginner's Introduction to the Game On Series -
available for free on Smashwords
First of all we have Kyra Lennon, who's just released "A Beginner's Introduction to the Game On Series."

If you were around for the 2012 A-Z Blogging Challenge, you'll remember Kyra's wonderful posts, written as diary entries by characters from her Game On series.

Since then, we've had two books from the series, as well as a special Christmas snippet, and I know Kyra has plans for a third Game On book later this year.

For those of you not familiar with the series, Game On and sequel/ spin-off Blindsided, are contemporary romances, centred around L.A's (fictional) soccer team the Westburg Warriors.

The first title in the series, Game On, sees British expat, Westburg's physiotherapist Leah Walker battle with her feelings for womanising soccer star Radleigh McCoy. The second book, Blindsided sees McCoy's younger team mate Jesse Shaw vacationing in England, where he meets shy British girl Isabelle Mills, and events while on vacation put Jesse's career on the line.

Having critiqued both books, I know how truly amazing they are. Kyra's stories are packed full of twists and turns; they're not your predictable love stories, but it's the super realistic, life-like characters that really make the stories shine.

So if you're looking to get into a fresh contemporary series, with wonderfully deep characters, why don't you pick up A Beginner's Introduction to the Game On Series, and get to know a little about Leah Walker, Radleigh McCoy and Jesse Shaw, as well as Game On secondary characters Bree Collinson, Fraya Phillips and Will Cater; who will all feature as main characters in future books.

The second author giving away free books this month is the wonderful Mary Pax, who's boundless imagination knows no ends.

The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear
now only 99 cents.

Her brilliant New Adult Contemporary Fantasy with a Contemporary Sci-fi twist, The Renaissance of Hetty Locklear,  is on sale this month for 99 cents. And beginning July 15th two signed paperbacks will be given away through Goodreads, and 10 ebooks will be given away through Rafflecopter

"The journey into adulthood is stranger than she expects.

Graduation from community college isn’t the magic elixir Hetty Locklear counts on for becoming an adult. Her parents, who work the Renaissance fair circuit, insist she spend part of the summer with them. Hetty doubts pretending to live in the Middle Ages will help her find her way.
To make it worse, an entity haunts her at her dead-end job, warning her of a dangerous man she doesn’t know. The ghost leads her to a lover who has a lot of secrets. He pulls her farther into peril and into a strange, hidden world of genetic experimentation.
New Adult Contemporary Fantasy with a contemporary sci-fi twist."
That's not all Mary is giving away. Over on her blog is the free episodic novel Under the Moon, which is currently on part five

"Dennis Merrill shouted at the driver to stop then rushed out into the wild night clutching his pack. The land resembled nothing he had ever seen. All the brush grew low, the trees sparse. Palisades crooked through the landscape in an awing tumult. The rock faces sang, beckoning."

Read the full chapter - and find previous instalments - here ...

Thanks for dropping in, I hope you find something you enjoy in the offerings from Kyra Lennon and Mary Pax.

Check back next Monday, where I'll be taking part in the cover reveal for the second book in Carrie Butler's amazing New Adult Paranormal Romance series The Mark of Nexus, entitled Courage which you can mark as 'to be read' on Goodreads now!

And if you're so inclined, please drop by again on Wednesday, where I may or may not be discussing a new project.

You know what's awesome ... ?

Indie authors helping out other indie authors. Writers4Writers Group, set up to help indie authors spread the word about their books! Well, this month, they very kindly offered to add Kyra Lennon to the list of writers they want to help!

The mission is simple. If you want to give Kyra a hand and shout her out - all you have to do is share her work via your social media networks, and for those of you who are short on time, she's even set up some tweets and FB posts for you to copy and paste! She does have three books, so you can promote them all, or just one or two. She (and me too) will be grateful for any help you can give!

Celebrate the Small Things Meme

Today I'm taking part in Viklit's Celebrate the Small Things Meme. The basic idea is to get together every Friday and celebrate the small things you've achieved; be it finished a section of your WIP, stuck to your diet, done some exercise, etc. Look back to last weekend and what you wanted to accomplish this week, and congratulate yourself for the things you've achieved.

First, I want to say thanks to Vik for the shoutout on her blog. Much appreciated.

This week I'm celebrating achieving fourteen out of the fifteen things on my 'to-do' list, and the fifteenth thing, I've done half of.

Some of my tasks included planning my current project - yesterday I got down a one-sentence summary, and a three act synopsis of the story. Now I can begin working on a scene list.

I've caught up on emails and messages for the whole week, including beta reading Christine Rains' soon-to-be released paranormal romance, The Dragonslayer.

I've also gotten my youngest prepared for him starting nursery school this coming Monday, by having a teacher home visit on Wednesday and a one-hour stay-and play session today. The little guy can't wait to go back Monday.

I'm very happy with all I'm managed to get done, and the extras that I added to the list, like helping my Hubby edit his article on the Dangers of Sexting (which I will link you to when he's had it accepted somewhere.)

Next week, I'm looking forwards to three hours in the morning without the little guy around, and think it'll be time to start making real headway on my new project.

What are you guys celebrating this week? I'd love to hear what you've been up to, and I'll also be hopping around to some of the other blogs on the sing up list.

I'm also celebrating Kyra Lennon's success, as she's giving away her contemporary romance, Blindsided (book 2 in the Game On series) for free this weekend. The offer is only available until Sunday, so check out her blog for buying links. You won't regret it, this is a sweet, warm lovely story about first love between two people who really deserve it!

Kyra has even more to celebrate as it's also her one year Blogaversary and she's hosting a giveaway in which you could win 2 eBook copies of Blindsided OR Game On OR If I Let You Go. Paperback copy of Blindsided OR Game On. 3 Chapter Critique. Enter the giveaway here.

Speaking of Blogaversary giveaways, in celebration of my one year Blogaversary, I'm giving away a £15 Amazon Voucher. Details can be found here

Hope everyone has a happy, healthy weekend and I'll be back sometime next week.

Blindsided Christmas Photo Bloghop

Hey guys! Just quickly before I go out to meet Mum for coffee and Christmas shopping, here's my entry for Kyra Lennon's Blindsided Christmas Photo Bloghop. If you haven't already, check out Kyra's contest, and her blog tour for recently released contemporary romance Blindsided!

Blindsided Blog Tour: Isabelle's Photography Portfolio

Today I have a special treat in store, as I take part in Kyra Lennon's Blindsided Blog tour, in celebration of her recently released contemporary romance novel Blindsided, which is the second book in the Game On series.

For my stop on the tour, I have the honour of sharing with you some of the female lead, Isabelle Mills' photography with you. Isabelle is a shy girl, so please be gentle with her. Over to you, Izzy.

Hello everyone! I’m a bit nervous today because for the first time ever, I’m sharing some photos from my portfolio. I’ve been studying photography for almost two years now, but until recently, the only people who have seen my work are my lecturer, my best friend and my sister. My parents have seen some very small snippets, but mostly, I keep it private. I really hope you like my work because I hope to be a professional photographer one day!

Blindsided Released

Hey everyone. You've probably already heard, but I just wanted to give a massive shoutout to Kyra Lennon, who yesterday released the second book in the Game On series, Blindsided.

I critiqued Blindsided, and thought it was amazing. A very sweet, innocent love story, with a magical Christmasy/ Winter feel. Perfect with a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter's day!

My review of Blindsided will be coming soon, and remember to check back here on 27th November for my stop of Kyra's Blindsided tour!

Lucky 7 Meme - Again!

Yesterday, I saw that Kyra Lennon had done the Lucky 7 Meme again, and posted a scandalizing snippet from her soon-to-be released Game On sequel, Blindsided. Check out her snippet if you haven't already, it's excellent

It made me realise I haven't shared anything from Cupid recently, so I thought I'd take part. But first, a quick Cupid update.

I'm currently doing a read through/ edit where I'm fixing any problems I find, and also changing from past tense to present tense. It's going really well, I've done 32,067 out of 67,760 words this week. It's also helped pull me back into the story, and I feel confident once my revisions are done, I'll be able to finish it off.

The Rules:

1. Go to page 77 of your current MS/WIP.
2. Go to line 7.
3. Copy down the next 7 lines – sentences or paragraphs – and post them as they’re written. 4. No cheating.
5. Tag 7 authors.
6. Let them know.

Anyway, here are my seven lines, from page seventy-seven.

“How are you? Have you been keeping well?” Delphia asks.
“Yeah … erm, not too bad thanks,” I reply, trying to keep my eyes on her face, and not my surroundings. While visiting Phoebus' home is like stepping into the future, visiting my Cupid parents is like taking a trip into the past. I've fallen into Ancient Greece, and I half expect Dionysus, with his chaplet of vine leaves on his head, to come rushing past with his harem of maenads.
“And your Cupid duties are going well?”
“Yeah, I'm getting there slowly, I brought another couple together this week. How about you, is everything here all right?”
“Yes, we're fine. We want to know if you're okay,”  Stephanos says. “Because I was at Celestea's palazzo recently, and I heard some things …”
Ah … so Stephanos and Delphia already know about the Abraxas situation.
“Yeah … I … erm, was going to tell you.”
“Has Abraxas been visiting you a lot?”
