COVER REVEAL: Girls and Boys, by M.B. Feeney

Hey folks!

I'm here today with the cover reveal for M.B. Feeney's contemporary novel Girls and Boys. Check it out!
 Designed by The Graphics Shed

Jack Robinson and Andy Stone are best friends, navigating their way through life in 90s London with a soundtrack of Britpop. Jack’s in his final year at university and still has no idea about what he wants to do with his life, while Andy’s a mechanic by day, a bit of a man-whore the rest of the time. Adapting to a new place to live in a big city isn’t easy, especially when girls, alcohol, and hard work get in the way, but having your best friend with you every step of the way makes it that much easier… well, when you’re not ignoring each other. Filled with laughter and heartache, Jack and Andy’s story is for everyone. A hint of romance, a solid friendship, and plenty of stupid mistakes. But, will they learn from them?

Memorable Monday: September Writers4Writers Group and CassaStorm By Alex J Cavanaugh

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had an excellent weekend. As you may have noticed, there was no Favourites Friday post last week - honestly, I've simply been too busy - but I'm back with a new week's Memorable Monday post, and hopefully I can keep to my schedule a little more this week!

First of all this Monday we have the awesome Writers4Writers Group, who get together the

third Monday of each month, to spotlight new authors.

Mission:
• Help writers bring awareness of their book(s) to tens of thousands of new people
• Help writers reach Amazon Top 100 in at least one category (i.e., suspense, free, whatever)
• Increase sales of their book(s) after the promo is over
• Drive new traffic to their blog and increase following
• Create verbal and viral buzz.

In A Nut Shell: the spotlighted author will choose a social media avenue such as Twitter or Facebook (or both). The third Monday of each month, we will spotlight one, two, or possibly three new authors.

Then, the good people of Blogdom will promote the author’s book to their Twitter followers or Facebook friends, and thus to incredibly large new audiences the author could not reach on their own.

This month's W4WS features Helen Ginger and Cherie Reich.

Since Halloween is coming up, Cherie Reich is promoting The Nightmare Collection. Through Halloween, the collection is only $0.99. Feel free to snag the promo picture she's created about the sale.

Facebook Posts

The Nightmare Collection by Cherie Reich includes three tales about one legendary monster, and the e-book is on sale for $0.99 through Halloween. Here is what Christine Rains, author of the 13th Floor series, said about The Nightmare Collection, "Intriguing mystery, masterful characterization, and heart pounding suspense." Helen Ginger is making it simple for us by providing tweets for you to tweet. They're all quotes from her book, Angel Sometimes.

Tweets:

"Oh, come on, Xavier, this indoor/outdoor grass is about to rip off my nipples. Just sit on my butt and yank." http://amzn.to/KWl2eV

"I'll tell you a secret. When you're a mermaid, no one can tell when you're crying." http://amzn.to/KWl2eV

"In the jungle, the strong eat the weak. It's the same with teenage girls." http://amzn.to/KWl2eV

"Before you point this gun at anyone, you ask yourself if you're ready to kill." http://amzn.to/KWl2eV

Here's a blurb about Angel Sometimes:

Just before her thirteenth birthday, Angel's aunt took her 800 miles from her home in Oklahoma, gave her $50 and left her on South Padre Island, Texas. Four years later, Angel hitchhiked to Austin and got a job swimming as a mermaid in a bar in the music district. At twenty-two, she has friends and a place to live, but she realizes she will never be whole until she confronts her parents. To do that, she needs three things: a car, her high school diploma, and a gun.

Angel Sometimes is available from bookstores. Or over at Amazon you can find it in print or e-book.

If you're not a tweeter, stop by one of Helen Ginger's Facebook pages and leave a comment, or share her tweets and/or blurb and links on your own Facebook page.

Also today, I'm thrilled to be taking part in Ninja Captain Alex J Cavanaugh's celebrations for the third instalment of his Cassa series, Cassa Storm!

Over on his blog, Alex invited us to ask him and question and he'd answer them as part of his release day blitz. Here is my question and his answer.

Clare: Why haven't aliens visited Earth yet?

Alex: If you were a highly intelligence being, would you want to come here?
How do we know they haven’t visited us? We project our idea of what aliens should be and what they should look like when we really have no idea. Perhaps they are beyond our comprehension.

I think Alex has a great point! Aliens would take one look at Earth, laugh at how stupid we can be, and take off in the opposite direction!

CassaStorm
By Alex J Cavanaugh
From the Amazon Best Selling Series!

A storm gathers across the galaxy…

Commanding the Cassan base on Tgren, Byron thought he’d put the days of battle behind him. As a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the desert planet, Byron’s ideal life is threatened and he’s caught between the Tgrens and the Cassans.

After enemy ships attack the desert planet, Byron discovers another battle within his own family. The declaration of war between all ten races triggers nightmares in his son, threatening to destroy the boy’s mind.

Meanwhile the ancient alien ship is transmitting a code that might signal the end of all life in the galaxy. And the mysterious probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago could return. As his world begins to crumble, Byron suspects a connection. The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

“Cavanaugh has created wonderfully moving moments of great poignancy… CassaStorm could have been a dark story full of hardship and angst, but instead it's a cleverly balanced story about hope and triumph.”  - Lynda R. Young, author of Make Believe

“I thought the revelation was going to be one thing and I was completely wrong … CassaStorm pushes the limits…” - Tyson Mauermann, Speculative Reviews

Camp NaNoWriMo: Day 19

Day: Nineteen

Where I should be: 31,654

Where I actually am:
42, 056

Word count for today:
1600

Favourite line from today's writing:
"I'd trade all the money in the world for a little warmth from them. What have I done that's so bad that it means they regard me with indifference?"

Experiences of the Day: It's been a slow weekend, I took yesterday off, and took it easy today, but I still managed 1600 words, and I'm pleased with my progress. Introduced some new characters today, and that went well. Also had an idea to add some extra complexity to the MC's relationship with the antagonist. Will be getting to something pretty big tomorrw, a possible turning point. Looking forwards to that.

Also remember, today is the last day to enter the giveaway to win a paperback copy of Kyra Lennon's Game On. I will announce the winner tomorrow.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Bloghop!!

I'm here today with another bloghop hosted by Jaycee Delorenzo and Victoria Smith. In a follow up to their 'Oh, My Hero!' bloghop, they're hosting the 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!' bloghop.

Here's what Jaycee and Victoria have to say about the bloghop:

Interview a heroine of your manuscript, novel, or WIP by a fellow female counterpart also from one of your written works. Your featured heroine can be interviewed by her best friend, a heroine from another one of your written works, a sister, the opportunities are endless!
  • Have your heroine answer at least three of the questions recommended below or make up your own!
  • Post a picture of your heroine, the interviewer, or both!
  • Post a song for the theme of the interview or a song that reflects your featured heroine's personality.
  • Follow Victoria and me on our blogs.
  • Post our hop button! (Though not required, feel free to repost on your blog about the hop!) Post your entries on June 22, 2012 and hop around the other blogs through the linky!
For this hop, the interview will have more of a "girls chatting" type feel because after all, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! So feel free to write it like a short scene in a book!

Following on from my post for the 'Oh, My Hero!' bloghop - in which I interviewed the hero of my WiP Perfect Ten, Nick Braxton – I've invited Perfect Ten's heroine, Rainie Dalton and her best friend Kiara Thorpe to have a little chat. (Though you met Rainie in the First Fight/ First Kiss blogfest, this 'scene' falls a little before the aforementioned first kiss.)

Take it away ladies! (warning slightly NSFW conversation)

First Fight/First Kiss Blogfest - Part Two

I'm finally catching up on everything – after some hectic personal life business – and am back with part two of Danielle B and Jackie's First Fight/First Kiss Blogfest.

First of all, I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who commented on part one. The feedback was really encouraging, and I'm thrilled to hear so many of you enjoyed the fight scene between Nick and Rainie.

Secondly, I wanted everyone to know, I will try to get around to as many blogs as possible, and catch up on all the posts - including today's kiss scenes - as soon as possible.

A lot of people mentioned how delicious Rainie's cupcakes sounded. Sadly I can't had real cupcakes out to you all – I would if I could – but I hope some virtual ones will be an acceptable substitute.

For my first kiss scene, I am again focusing on Nick and Rainie from my WiP, Perfect Ten, and some of you may remember an almost kiss I posted between the two a few months ago.

I'm sure you're all eager to get onto the real thing though, so here it is …

First Fight/First Kiss Blogfest

After a week's break, I'm back, and today taking part in Danielle B and Jackie's First Fight/First Kiss Blogfest.

Here's what the ladies have to say about the blogfest:

Share your 1st FIGHT and 1st KISS scenes in your MS’s, WIP’s, or real life experiences.
We want to read and experience them all! Make us feel what your characters or what you felt ... from the sting of the fist hitting the face to the taste of that first kiss.

The First Fight/First Kiss blogfest will go as such:
  • Post 1 will be on Tuesday, June 12 - Share your 1st FIGHT scene on your blog... lovers spat, a banter back and forth, a battle scene, a classic fist fight, etc. It can be physical or verbal, fists or magic. Whatever you want.
  • Post 2 will be on Thursday, June 14 - Share your 1st KISS scene on your blog. It can be a peck on the cheek or a full fledge kissing session. Whatever you want to share.
  • Hop around to the other blogs and comment on their wonderful 1st fight and 1st kiss scenes.

Once again I'm focusing on my second WiP,
Perfect Ten, and sharing with you the first fight and first kiss between Nick Braxton (who I introduced during the 'Oh, My Hero!' Bloghop) and Rainie Dalton (who I will be introducing in the 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!' Bloghop).
