Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! Bloghop!!

I'm here today with another bloghop hosted by Jaycee Delorenzo and Victoria Smith. In a follow up to their 'Oh, My Hero!' bloghop, they're hosting the 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!' bloghop.

Here's what Jaycee and Victoria have to say about the bloghop:

Interview a heroine of your manuscript, novel, or WIP by a fellow female counterpart also from one of your written works. Your featured heroine can be interviewed by her best friend, a heroine from another one of your written works, a sister, the opportunities are endless!
  • Have your heroine answer at least three of the questions recommended below or make up your own!
  • Post a picture of your heroine, the interviewer, or both!
  • Post a song for the theme of the interview or a song that reflects your featured heroine's personality.
  • Follow Victoria and me on our blogs.
  • Post our hop button! (Though not required, feel free to repost on your blog about the hop!) Post your entries on June 22, 2012 and hop around the other blogs through the linky!
For this hop, the interview will have more of a "girls chatting" type feel because after all, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! So feel free to write it like a short scene in a book!

Following on from my post for the 'Oh, My Hero!' bloghop - in which I interviewed the hero of my WiP Perfect Ten, Nick Braxton – I've invited Perfect Ten's heroine, Rainie Dalton and her best friend Kiara Thorpe to have a little chat. (Though you met Rainie in the First Fight/ First Kiss blogfest, this 'scene' falls a little before the aforementioned first kiss.)

Take it away ladies! (warning slightly NSFW conversation)

Kiara bustles into the room, simultaneously trying to yank down her miniskirt, and hitch up her cleavage revealing top, as she carries an armful of alcohol.

"Make way! V.I.P coming through!" Her voice is as loud as her make up, which is neon orange, and contrasts strikingly with her dark skin.

Behind her walks Rainie, who, while in no way overshadowed by her best friend, is dressed more demurely in a wraparound paisley print dress that accentuates her ample curves. In her hands is a tray laden with delicious home-made snacks, and the house is filled with the mouth watering scent of baking.

Kiara plonks herself down in the centre of the couch, propping her feet up on the coffee table, and flashing her four inch, glittering heels.

Rainie places the tray of snacks down on the coffee table beside the ingredients for Margaritas, and makes herself and Kiara cocktails.

Kiara takes a long drink, smacking her lips together as she finishes. A devilish grin spreads across her face. "Okay, let's get this party started. I''ll start with an easy one; when was the last time you had sex?"

Rainie nearly spits her drink across the living room. "I'm not answering that! Ask me something else."

"Nu-huh. You agreed to answer anything I asked you. That's the deal."

"Remind me again when I agreed to this?"

"You're my best friend and you can't refuse me anything. So, spill it Rainie. How long has it been … Six month? A year? Eighteen months?"

"Three years, eight months, three weeks and twelve days. Not that I'm counting."

"What? You haven't had sex since before you divorced from Michael? How have you possibly lasted that long?"

"I have Bob."

"Bob?"

"You know, my battery operated boyfriend."

"Say what? That ain't no substitute for a good man. At least tell me you've been on dates?"

"A few, but none that have gone any where. It's hard, with the kids and work. If I'm not at the studio, I'm with the boys."

"You need to get laid."

"So you keep telling me," Rainie comments dryly.

"All that's about to change now that you're dating Nick Braxton, innit?"

"I'd hardly call it dating. We've been out for lunch, once. We haven't even kissed."

"But you want to, don't you?"

"No … yes … I don't know. God, I hate this. I'm acting like a dopey teenager, over some guy."

"And some guy he is! He looks like a Greek God! For those out there not lucky enough to have seen Nick in the flesh, why don't you describe him for us?"

"He's gorgeous! Like you said, he looks like Adonis, and he knows it. He's tale, blonde - even if it is from a bottle - and blue eyed. He's got a chiselled jaw, and these biceps … god, his biceps … " A blush creeps over Rainie's cheeks and she fans herself with her hands, before taking a gulp of her Margarita.

"Nicky-boy's quite a catch, that's for sure. I'd be jealous, if I didn't have my own Italian heart-throb waiting at home for me! I met him on my birthday, and he swept me off my feet. He's an Italian Stallion, I tell you!"

"Kiara! You can't say that!"

Kiara cackles with delight. "Come off it, don't tell me you haven't thought about taking a ride on Nicky-boy's disco stick!"

"You're a perv!"

"You say that like it's a bad thing." Kiara flashes an impish grin. "Okay, if you don't wanna talk about his ding-dong, what about your first date with him. Did he put the moves on?"

"I'm not drunk enough to answer that question yet." Rainie refills her glass and takes a large gulp. "Next question … "

"Alright, if you don't wanna talk about Mister Lover-lover, how about back in the day, before my fabulousness entered your life? What's the worst date you've had?"

"Oh that's easy," Rainie answers in an instant, sitting forwards in her seat, her eyes focused as she recalls the details. "Back when I was sixteen David Fellows asked me out. He was a boy in my class, and I'd liked him for the longest time. We went to the pictures to see Return of the Jedi. Halfway through he tried to grope me, missed, fumbled, and then knocked cola all over my lap. We barely spoke for the rest of the date, but when he dropped me off at home that night, he still went in for a kiss. It was sloppy, awkward and like being assaulted by an over enthusiastic Labrador!" Rainie laughs and shakes her head at the memory.

"Na-stee," Kiara agrees. "Is that your biggest turn off? Sloppy kissers?"

"It was when I was sixteen, but I've learned a few harsh life lessons since then. Now I avoid liars and game players like the plague. Aside from two beautiful sons, if there's one thing my ex-husband taught me, it's not to trust a man when he says he's working late, and then comes home smelling of cheap perfume."

"That man was never good enough for you," Kiara huffs. "He deserves that tart he's with now, innit?"

"Well they certainly make each other happy, that's for sure." Rainie takes a long swallow of her drink.

"You ain't gettin' all down and depressed on me now. We've heard your worst date, tell me about the best day you've been on."

Rainie leans back in her seat and pops a mini sausage roll in her mouth, as a dreamy look crosses her face.

"You're thinking about Nicky-boy again, aren't ya?"

"Maybe." Rainie lets out an uncharacteristic giggle. "I think I'm a little tipsy."

"Wicked, you're more likely to dish the good stuff if you're drunk," Kiara says, punctuating the sentence with a maniacal laugh.

"I'm going to live to regret this, aren't I?"

"Uh-huh. Now come on, spill."

"It was perfect. He was perfect. He took me to this beautiful country house. The food was amazing. We had a few bottles of wine, spent the afternoon chatting, strolled around the grounds, and found one of those giant chess sets to have a game on."

"But no first kiss?"

Rainie shoots Kiara a death glare. "You don't need to kiss on a date for it to be fantastic. I had an amazing time with Nick. If you've got a connection with someone that's much more important necking on a first date."

"So you say. Personally I like a little action." Kiara sticks out her tongue and wiggles it around.

Not wanting to cause an argument, Rainie shrugs. "Each to their own, I guess."

"Will Nick be getting a second date then?"

Rainie smiles coyly. "If he asks nicely enough I might agree."

"You're a hard woman to please, you know?"

"I can't help it if I have standards."

"Are you saying I don't?" Kiara raises a perfectly plucked eyebrow.

"No, I'm just saying you're … erm … more easily pleased."

Kiara huffs and throws a cushion at Rainie. "You're saying I'm easy, innit?"

"No! Of course not, you're just more laid back."

"Okay, laid back I like. Horizontal even, that's where all the action is!" Kiara says, wiggling her eyebrows.

All Rainie can do in response is shake her head and laugh with amusements.

"So Miss High Standards, what does a man have to do to get a second date with you?"

"Not much, actually. We just need to have a connection. I'm not going to want to see a guy again if we barely had anything to talk about. Basic manners don't go amiss either, but I'm not looking for an old fashioned gentleman either. Just someone on the level. Someone who isn't playing games."

"Is that what you're most drawn to in a man?"

"Yeah. Honesty is very important to me. They've got to respect my life as a mother too. I'm not looking for someone to come in and play daddy to my boys. They've got one, they don't need another. But any man who wants to date me has to know they come first," Rainie insists, before adding with a wink, "Rock hard biceps don't hurt either!"

"Ah, now we're getting to the crux of it. What woman can turn down a man with a hot bod?"

"I'm not going to lie, I can appreciate the male form. But it isn't all about sex."

"For you maybe," Rainie said, pouring them both another drink, and hoping that it would serve as a distraction. "Okay, next question."

"Alright. This is the final one, so I best make it good … how big do you think Nicky-boy's ding-dong is?"

Rainie raised an eyebrow. "That's seriously your question?"

"Nah. I'm just kidding. No one's will ever compare to my Italian Stallion's. What's the one thing you believe you can tell a lot about a person from?"

"Oh, Kiara, I'm impressed. A thought provoking question with no mention of sex. I didn't know you had it in you."

"I'm not just a pretty face, innit?"

"Brains and beauty, that's my best friend."

Kiara beams, and raises her glass to Rainie, "Hear, hear!"

Rainie raises her own glass and clinks it with Kiara's. "To answer you question, I think the most telling thing about a person is their ability to cook. If they can whip up a Sunday roast for eight, without breaking a sweat, they're obviously family orientated, grounded and down to earth. If their version of 'cooking' entails finding the takeaway menu, then maybe they're a bit more free and easy."

"Like me?!" Kiara grins inanely.

"And I wouldn't have it any other way." Rainie climbs off the seat, and joins Kiara on the sofa, wrapping her arms around her best friend and kissing her on the forehead.

"You know, Nick and Marco are lucky guys."

"I think you might be right Kiarai, and we're lucky ladies to have them," Rainie says, resting her head on Kiara's shoulder.

I think I will leave Rainie and Kiara to their Womance. Thanks for reading, and remember to check out the other blogs in the hop. A list of those participating can be found here.

I love Rainie's maturity. She's not all about getting to the dirty stuff (not that she isn't thinking about it :p), instead she is cool with letting things happen instead of forcing them. I like her a lot! :D
