Times Are Changing ...

You might have noticed I haven't blogged here properly in a while. With work, writing, and many people preferring other forms of social media, this sort of slipped to the wayside.

But today, a Facebook memory of an old Live Journal post I'd shared led me down a rabbit whole, where I realised I actually miss blogging.

Not only do I miss the interaction with others, but I miss having physical records of my life to look back on.

So, to that ends I'm planning on blogging regularly again. I think it would be overly overoptimistic to set a schedule, but I would like to update once a month. We'll see how things go.

There is, however, one catch. I won't be blogging here.

I'm not closing down my blog entirely. I'm going to leave it here for cover reveals, release blitzes etc. and to preserve my previous posts. But for my 'main' blog, with frequent updates about both my writing, and my life, I will be moving over to my website, ClareDugmore.Com, so everything is neatly organised in one place.

Finally, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years. I wouldn't have gotten this far in my writing career, or found my job at CQ, without the support of the awesome online writing community. You guys rock! <3

If you'd like to stay in touch, my contact details can be found down the side of the page and my new blog url is: http://www.claredugmore.com/blog

Peace and love to you all!

September 2014 Update

So, it's been a while since I properly updated, hasn't it? The reason being ... I simply haven't had time.

Work at Curiosity Quills is as busy, but fun, as always and with around eight books a month released, you can understand why I've been so busy.

Plus, for all of August, the kids were off school. It's pretty much impossible to be productive with an eleven and a four year-old running around! On top of that, Oldest started Secondary School and Youngest started Primary School in September, so there was a lot of preparation for both to do. The good news is, both boys have settled in wonderfully.

Now that September is coming to an end, I feel more in routine with work, writing and blogging, so hopefully I can update more often.

Funnily enough, I have been blogging more recently, only over at CQ. I now have a weekly blog there. If you're interested, the posts can be found here:

Writing-wise, I'm just getting back into the swing of things. I've gotten Order of the Ancile Book One - which now has a title, "Liches, Lipstick and Love" - back from all but one critter, so I'm slowly working through their revision notes.

I'm also planning the future books in the series, and somehow managed to write 3000 words for book three. I don't know if any of them will stick though, the main characters keep wanting to have sex! lol

I've also come up with a series synopsis, titles and blurbs for each book in the series. If you're interested, they can be found at the Order of the Ancile tab

At the beginning of the month, I took part in Kyra Lennon's Charity Cat Anthology Blog Hop, with my entry "The Luck of the Cat." I liked the story so much, in between working on Ancile books, I might actually turn it into a full-length novel. We'll see ...

That's pretty much it for my September, so I'll leave this entry here. I'll try to update again next month, and no doubt throughout October, I'll have cover reveals, book launches etc. from my fellow writing buddies to share with you!

Comment to let me know what you've been up to, and what's going on in your world. I'd love to hear your updates!

School's Out for Summer - Blogging Break

As you might have noticed, there was no Working Wednesday post, nor is there a Favourites Friday post. That's because I'm taking my blogging break a little early.

Not only do I want to spend some time away from the computer with my boys while they're on summer break from school, but I'm also reassessing where I want to be as a writer, and trying to refocus myself. Hopefully the time away will give me some perspective.

I hope everyone on the Blogosphere has a wonderful summer. I'm sure I'll drop in on some of you to see how you're all doing, but there won't be any posts from me until mid-September when my boys are back in their school routine!

Peace out, everyone!

Update, Triberr and Work In Progress Madness

from http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/
I have a new monitor! Yay!

Last week Oldest broke my old one! I've been using Hubby's laptop since then, but my new one arrived today. I'm so happy to be back on my system. Even though I created a user account on Hubby's laptop, it just didn't feel right.

Despite the week of borrowed computer, I still managed to be productive. I've given my WiP a couple of read troughs, made some revisions, and made some notes on what still needs improving. All in all, my editing of Act One is going great.

I saw on Twitter earlier the WiPMadness tag. I'm still not 100% sure what WiP Madness is, I think it ties into Camp NaNo, but I'm going to use it to motivate me with my Act One revisions.

Anyone else doing WiP Madness? Let me know and we can encourage each other.

I also started my marketing internship for Curiosity Quills today. I get to play on Twitter, Facebook & Pinterest all day. GREATEST.JOB.EVER! Seriously though, I'm really enjoying learning about the social media marketing aspect of being a published writer, and learning about new sites etc.

triberr.com/
Which brings me to Triberr ... Courtney - my CQ mentor - told me about this site. It's a place where you can connect with other blogs, by joining a tribe, and then people in your tribe share your links. I've only just started using it, and I'm just getting to grips with tribes and approving people's links, so we'll see how it turns out. Anyone else on Triberr? Let me know and I'll join your tribe. :D

What's everyone's plans for the week? What are you working on? Are you taking part in Camp NaNoWriMo? Any releases/ cover reveals etc. I might have missed? Let me know, I'd love to hear all about it.
