Oh, My Hero! Blog Hop

In addition to today's A-Z Challenge post X is for Xanark Nitrate 43, I'm also taking part in the Oh, My Hero! Blog Hop, hosted by Jaycee Delorenzo and Victoria Smith.

Here are what Jaycee and Victoria have to say about the Blog Hop:

What's your hero like? Is he the strong and silent type? The wounded bad boy? A man on a mission, not looking for love, but captivated by your heroine? Whoever he is, we're sure he's swoonworthy, and we want to learn more about him!

I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to introduce you all to the leading man from my new WiP, Perfect Ten, (which I'm hoping to self-publish later this year) Nick Braxton.

Nick has been kind enough to answer some questions so you can all get to know him a little more. Take it away Nick …

(NSFW images under the cut)

How would you describe yourself in one word?

*grins and tilts his chiselled jaw, showing off the dimples in his cheeks* Perfect! Ha-ha. They say life imitates art, but in this case I think it's the other way around. I'm sure the writers of The Company (the hit daytime cable soap opera I star in) wrote the part of Rudy Weiss just for me. In the show Rudy is suave, charming and rich! As you can see, that's not far from the truth!

How would you describe your heroine?

Real. Rainie isn't like a lot of the women in this industry, I suppose because she's not an actress. There's nothing fake about her. She is who she is, and she's not afraid of that. I think it helps that she's an older woman too. She's above all the game playing that goes on. She likes her food, as well, and that's so refreshing compared to all these stick insects who won't even eat a salad. You know when I first noticed Rainie? The day she took over from Horace as the show's caterer. I was eating lunch on set and I thought 'Holy shit, this doesn't taste like burnt cardboard.' I had to see for myself what Horace had done differently. Only when I got to the canteen he wasn't there, and in his place was this curvaceous woman, with stormy blue eyes, who could make a mere three ingredients taste like heaven.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Now that you've met me do you believe in love at first sight? But in answer to your question, I don't know. I've never been in love.

How would your friends describe you in one word?

Jake (Brookes, my co-star and best bud) would probably complain that I get all the ladies! Don't worry Jake, you get your fair share too. He's a great wing man!

What's your favourite pastime?

Not a lot of people know this about me, but I'm really into history and politics. I enjoy reading, too. Both fiction and non-fiction. I love a good fantasy series that I can get lost in, and spend hours theorising over what's going to happen next. Of course I like typical "guy" things too. I love my Xbox, and I always try and squeeze in a game of footie when I have a day off.

What's your idea of the perfect date?

Location and activity can be anything from dinner and a bottle of wine in a fancy restaurant, to abseiling followed by a picnic when we hit the ground! What's really important is the company and the conversation. If both of those are good then the perfect date could be as simple as eating fish on a park bench.

Are you a morning or a night person and why?

Why don't you come over to my place and find out?! Working in TV I work very strange hours. Sometimes I can be on set as early as six in the morning, and other times I don't get home until after midnight. That really plays havoc with your body clock, so when I do get a day off I can sleep all day and be up all night.

If you won a million pounds what would you do with it?

I'd open my own production company, and make the type of movies and T.V shows I want to star in. I'd also use it to give the actors of the future their break. I was lucky, Galaxy (the cable company that produces The Company) took me on early in my career and gave me a part in their teen drama The Squad (for those who you who remember it, yes it was about a squad of male cheerleaders!), keeping me on the books after it ended and eventually offering me the lead in The Company.

If you had 24 hours to live what would you do/ where would you go?

I'd spend some of it with my family. I'd have breakfast with my mum, dad and younger brother Brad. I'd cook them all something good, like a fry up. Then I'd play some footie, and after help mum out in the garden. If I had a special lady I'd spend the rest of the day with her. A good meal, maybe some wine, followed by good conversation and, well I'll leave the last bit up to your imagination … *flashes a dazzling smile*

Who is your favourite comic book character and why?
Deadpool, because he's funny, sarcastic and a total badass. Much like me!

If you had three wishes what would they be?

To know that someday I am going to get my big break. I have faith in my talent, but making it in the business isn't all about talent, it's about luck too. I just hate thinking all the hard work I've put into acting will be wasted if I don't make it, and have to get a "proper" job.

That at least once of my grandparents were still alive. Two of them died when I was just a baby, one of them when I was in my early teens, and the last just a few years ago. I really wish they could have seen me make it big. My Grandma Ivy especially (she was the one who died a few years ago). She always supported me and encouraged me, and I'd have loved for her to have seen how far that encouragement took me.

For England to win to world cup again! Ha-ha. I'm a big footie fan, and always support the national team in big competitions. They've had a really strong squad recently, and it would just be so great to see them go all the way. We deserve it!

What your favourite movie?

You're probably going to think I'm a total geek, but my favourite movie is Lord of the Rings. I read the books back in high school, and thought they were fantastic. For a book to movie adaptation the movies really did the story justice. Plus Sean Bean stars in it, and he was my idol growing up. I wanted to be Sharp.

What is the first thing you notice about a woman that you find attractive?

Their eyes. Sure I like a nice arse or a good rack as much as the next man, but what can you really tell from a person's T'n'A? But the eyes are the window to the soul. They can project sorrow, or happiness. An actor acts with their eyes, so that's always the first thing I notice about a woman. Then I check out her arse!

What do you value the most in a potential love interest?

Genuineness. In this business you can never be too sure people are actually who they say they are. A great body, million pound smile, or perfect hair don't mean shit if you're not real on the inside. I'd take someone with lumps and bumps over a pair of fake tits any day.
