Camp NaNoWriMo: Day 20

Day: Twenty

Where I should be: 33,320

Where I actually am:
45,587

Word count for today:
3528

Favourite line from today's writing:
A blood bond between two Cupids can only be broken if the Cupid who agreed to it relinquishes their life, or the one who requested the bond retracts their demand.

Experiences of the Day: The finish line is in sight, though I still have a way to go on the story. I figure I'm between half and three quarters of the way there. I am already seeing parts that will need revising. I'm a little worried the pacing is off, and I wrote a scene today that I think needs more building to. While I'm excited to be creating new stuff, I'm also looking forwards to getting to revisions and pruning where needs to, and adding meat on the bones in other places.

  1. Wow Clare, you are moving right along. Well done! I wouldn't worry about pacing and revising right now cos you don't want to slow yourself down. I'm so impressed with your word count:)

    1. Thanks for the words of encouragement Gwen! I'm trying not to think too much about revising right now, but it's looming at the back of my mind.

  4. Are you making a list of planned revisions as you go? I'd just open a new file and jot those ideas down when they come to you before going back to drafting. That way you won't lose any brilliant ideas for draft 2.

    1. I'm doing a mixture of keeping mental notes, and adding notes in the margin with comments feature on Open Office. Anything major, I'm making sure I write down, so I don't forget for draft 2. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. :D

  5. That's brilliant progress! I think it's a good thing that you can already see what needs revised, that way you can get straight down to it afterwards. I think it would be all I could do just to get the words down each day!

    1. Thanks Nick. It is good knowing what needs to be revised, as I won't go into editing totally blind, like I did with other projects. :D

  6. Wooooo Claire! Good job. I'm at 27k myself. I need to play catch up, but I'm really happy with what I've got so far.
