After not writing for a week - due to being worn-out from writing 15,508 words in the space of eight days! - I've finally gotten back to it today and wrote 5569 word.
And completed the first draft of Sibylline Nights at a grand total of 105,892 words and two-hundred and nine pages!!
When I finished I spent five minutes dancing around the house to Sombody Call My Momma!
I'm so proud of what I've achieved, and also kind of amazed and shocked I've gotten this far! This is the first piece of original fiction I've seen through to completion, and Sibylline Nights is actually a story idea I've had in my head since around 2009. It's a great feeling knowing I've brought it this far.
And I couldn't have gotten here without some amazing people. My hubby, Ad who always encourages me, my friend and fellow writer Kyra who has constant faith in me, and makes me want to match her awesomeness, and my friend Kim who never stops believing in me. And also the followers I've gotten on this blog, who - even with the smallest - of comments encourage me to keep going. Thank you everyone.
The next step will be for Hubby and I to go through and edit, tighten and improve the first draft. After that I'm doing the same process with Kyra.
I want to get the first draft into good shape by June so that I can take advantage of the NaNoWriMo gift and a order proof copy for myself.
Then, who knows? I think I'll probably leave it a few months after that and work on some other projects before deciding what to do next.
In other news, Kyra and her friend Rachel are hosting a bloghop next moth. The Movie Blogfest. It looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait to take part, so go check it out and sign up. I already have!
Thanks again for all the support you've given me and the blog, I hope you all continue to follow me as I move onto the next step of my novel writing journey.
