Zoe has a great pair of legs, perky boobs, and wears exactly what she needs to show it all off. She works hard for the easy sleazy ‘you only wish you were me’ reputation, burying who she really is—an all-out nerd.
The only time Zoe gets to be herself is when she hides under her comforter to read X-Men comics, sending jealousy stabs at everyone who attends Comic-Con. Keeping up her popular rep is too important, and she’s so damn insecure to care about the consequences. But when Zoe’s sister takes her car for a ‘crash and burn into a tree’ joyride, her parents get her a replacement. A manual. Something she doesn’t know how to operate, but her next door neighbor Zak sure as heck does.
Zak’s a geek to the core, shunned by everyone in school for playing Dungeons and Dragons at lunch and wearing “Use the Force” t-shirts. And Zoe’s got it bad for the boy. Only Zak doesn’t want Popular Zoe. He wants Geek Zoe.
She has to shove her insecurities and the fear of dropping a few rungs on the social ladder aside to prove to Zak who she really is and who she wants to be… if she can figure it out herself.

Onto my own nerdy confession ...
I'm actually quite a nerd, thought I wouldn't consider myself to be. I just like the things I like, and don't really care if people consider that lame/ nerdy/ whatever.
I love Harry Potter; it's what got me back into both reading and writing, and I can spout random facts. My oldest was quite alarmed when I randomly told him Draco Malfoy's date of birth. It's June 5th, 1980, in case you're wondering!
I'm also an Elder Scrolls nerd. I only got into the series with TES IV: Oblivion, but I can spout random knowledge about that too ... like naming all the Daedric Princes, their planes of Oblivion and their artefacts. My favourites being Lord Sheogorath, of the Shivering Isles and his Wabbajack, and Hermaeus Mora, of the Apocrypha, and his Oghma Infinium.
My nerdiness expresses itself in weird ways, too. Like having to make online dolls of ALL my favourite characters. I'm not lying, either. I especially love this one of A Song of Ice and Fire's Shiera Seastar and Brynden Rivers.
I went to great pains to make their appearance as canon as possible, including Photoshopping Shiera's eyes so one is blue and one is green, and putting Brynden's sigil on his breastplate.
I think I'm at my most nerdy when talking about Pokemon though. ZOMG! Only two-and-a-half week until X and Y are released!!
Who wants to hear me do the Pokerap?
*sings* Charmeleon, Wartortle, Mewtwo, Tentacruel, Aerodactyl. Omanyte, Slowpoke, Pidgeot, Arbok, that's all folks! Catch 'em, catch 'em, gotta catch 'em all. POKEMON! *sings*
This year, to be especially nerdy, I'm planning on naming my Pokemon after comic book characters. I'm hoping to get a shiny Charmander and call it Slade (as in Wilson, aka Deathstroke). My first ever Charmander was called Remy (as in LeBeau, aka Gambit.) ^_~
Yeah, and people wonder why I never get any work done ...
I'm going to stop now, before I lose any more street cred! Ha! Like I had any to begin with.
I hope you enjoyed my nerdy confession, and I hope you all enjoy Cassie Mae's How to Date a Nerd!
I was really into Pokemon in high school. Hearing that rap made me miss it!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a classic game.
DeleteThanks for dropping by! :)
*snorts* I forget how nerdy you are sometimes! LOL, excellent post! <3
ReplyDeleteHow do you forget something like that?! :P
DeleteI love your nerd resume! It's quite impressive.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Micheal! :D
DeleteWow you almost put me to shame. I'm still a Pokemon fan as well and still have all my cards from childhood. Love how you name your Pokemon and your ability to spout major HP facts.
ReplyDeleteAh, Sheena-kay, someone else who understands my love of Pokemon! Thanks for dropping by. :D
DeletePokemon nerd alert! Funny.
ReplyDeleteNerd and Proud! :D
DeleteYay for nerds! And hooray for Cassie! I used to play a lot of Pokemon too. Maybe my son will get into it and we can pick it up again. Goodness knows we have enough Gameboys in the house!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest is into it too. Me, him and Hubby all get the games and trade Pokemon with each other. It's such fun. I hope you boy gets into it to. :)
DeleteI used to watch Pokemon a lot at uni. It is almost like a cult.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Cassie! Seen her book around quite a bit.
It does have a very cult like status, Nick! :D
DeleteI'm so pathetic. My son has Pokemon cards. He doesn't really play but has collected them on and off. Used more to build card houses. But he wrote a few stories about Pokemon. I've even read through the Pokemon character book, but sadly, I still don't really know what it is. What's the point and how to play.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday I'll learn. :)
I love the Harry Potter series and will re-read the entire series again very soon. I that makes me a nerd, then nerd me up and give me my jacket and badge.
ReplyDeleteI loved your nerdy confession! I also posted my own confession on my blog. Eek! lol I think your online dolls for Shiera Seastar and Brynden Rivers are amazing! I never got into Pokeman, but I remember when a ton of my friends were so hearing that confession made me giggle. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to get my son the Pokemon X & Y for his 3DS...Then play it while he sleeps..*evil laughter*
ReplyDeleteI love Harry Potter too! (Although I'd never have been able to tell you Draco Malfoy's birthday!)
ReplyDeleteOh dear...the nerdiness abounds, haha.
ReplyDeleteI want to bow and clap! This is freaking awesome! (I totally sang the Pokemon names as I read them, lol)
ReplyDeleteThank you Clare!!!
